A few weeks ago, I made a rare Amazon purchase: three small parts I needed for a couple of home projects. Nothing urgent. I didn’t need them the next day. The order said it would take a few days, and that was fine. As time went on, I planned my project around the delivery date. Then I saw the dreaded update: delayed. Again, no big deal, I could wait. Another week went by, another revised date. Still fine… sort of. One of the parts was critical to the project. Without it, everything else had to wait.
Finally, I got the good news: all three items were “out for delivery. The next day: Delivered! High fives all around. Except… there were only two packages at my door. One was ripped open, a part sitting outside the bag. And the one piece I actually needed? Missing. Yet, the delivery status showed all three items as “delivered.”
Normally, I’m a patient guy. But at that moment… let’s just say I was no longer patient. I called Amazon customer service expecting a fight. Instead, I got someone friendly, who apologized immediately and reordered the missing part on the spot. A few days later, it arrived, and I could finally finish my project.
Here’s the thing: I never needed it fast. I needed it right.
In delivery, speed can be impressive, but accuracy builds trust.
If you send something late but complete, I might forgive you.
If you send something fast but wrong, that’s a harder recovery.
At Koorier, this is a question we think about constantly: Do customers value faster or accurate deliveries more? I believe the real win is when you deliver both — but if I had to choose, I’d take accuracy every time.
What about you? When you’re on the receiving end, what matters most?
- Fast and cheap, but lower quality?
- Slower but accurate?
- Or do you demand both speed and precision?
